Ag Strong - Goodwell FFA

The Goodwell FFA Chapter has swiftly responded to a catastrophic 1000-year flood that submerged nearly the entire town. Within hours, the chapter’s officers created “Ag Strong,” a disaster relief group, demonstrating remarkable leadership in crisis.

Chapter Sentinel Kinley Tolle, personally impacted by the flood, joined her fellow officers in mobilizing support. FFA Advisor Darci Freeland, along with Cara Silvey and Misty Hines, whose home was severely flooded, guided the students in identifying immediate community needs.

Ag Strong partnered with the Guymon Community Enrichment Foundation to operate as a 501(c)(3) organization, streamlining their relief efforts.

Chapter Reporter Cate Blanton highlighted the town’s unique challenges: “Our community doesn’t qualify for federal or Red Cross assistance due to its small size. We urgently need support.”
